Lionel Messi Sets Ligue 1 All-Time Assist Record with 20 Assists in Single Season

The record for the most assists Lionel Messi has made in a single season is currently held by Cristiano Ronaldo, who achieved this feat during the 2016-17 season.

In his first full season at Manchester United, where he was primarily tasked with running the midfield and passing the ball to other players, Messi managed to score a total of 15 assists in all competitions, which is more than any other player in history.
