Marseille Draws 1-1 With Rennes After Guendouzi's Goal Is Disallowed, Both Teams Call It A Draw

Marseille and Rennes played out a goalless draw in their Ligue 1 match on Sunday, with both teams claiming that the result should be considered a draw after Guendouzi's goal was disallowed.

Reacting to the disallowance of the goal, Marseille manager Lucien Favre said: "It is a pity because it was a very good play. We did not score, we did not have enough quality in the game. But it's not important."

Rennes manager Christophe Galtier added: "I'm happy with the draw. The game was difficult. We were unlucky not to score. Marseille deserved to win, they scored when we could not. But I'm happy with the result."

Both managers praised the quality of play shown by their players, despite the lack of goals. However, they also acknowledged that the result was disappointing given the opportunities created by both sides.

Despite the disappointment, both teams will be content with the fact that they drew the match, rather than losing it or conceding an equalizer. As one player put it: "We didn't deserve to lose the game."
